Quilled Snowflake Tutorial

I started with a piece of white cardstock that was 5 1/2" by 8 1/2". I used the W.I.S.H. technique on the cardstock and let it dry.
I cut the piece of cardstock into pieces that were 1/4" by 4 1/4". You will end up with 44 pieces. That is enough to make 2 ornaments.
I take an acetate report folder. I put a big puddle of glue and a small dot of glue. I use Aleene's tacky glue because it holds the cardstock fairly fast.
This is a quilling tool. It has a notch on one end. Slide the end of the strip of paper into that slot and roll the paper around the tool.
This is what it looks like rolled around the tool.
I take an opened paper clip to dip into the glue. I put a dot of glue at the end.
Hold for a few seconds until the glue starts to hold. This shape is called a "COIL".

I place the coil onto the drop of glue on the folder.
Take 6 more strips. Roll the paper as you would to make a coil, but before you add the glue, pinch one side. This makes a "TEAR DROP" shape.
Add 6 little drops of glue to the folder around the coil. Put them at 12 o'clock, 2, 4,6,8 and 10.
Dip the pointed end of the tear drops into the glue.
Put the tear drop onto the folder. Making sure that there is contact between the tear drops and the coil.
This is what it looks like with the 6 tear drops.
Take 6 more strips of the paper. Fold each one in half. Roll the strips just to before the fold. Roll them so that the coils go to the outside.
This is the result.
Dip the pointed end into the glue.
Slide it into the snowflake at 1 o'clock, 3,5,7,9, and 11.
This is how the snow flake will look.
Take 6 more strips. Fold them in half. This time roll the coils to the middle. These will look kinda like hearts.
Dip the rolled ends into the glue.

Take rolled ends and place next to the rolled ends of the snowflake.
Take 3 more strips. Cut them in half. Take those 6 smaller strips and make them into tear drops.
Dip the end of the tear drops, rounded ends into the glue.
Place the little tear drops at the ends.
I then add little glass beads.
I use the paper clip to put the glue onto the snowflake.
Place the beads into the glue.
