Elements used:
I created the scene using digital images from - Polka Doodles cd roms (Magical Winter part one and part two) and green-white backing paper from Sunday of Seasons cd rom.

The bottom layer is a heavy burgundy card. The next layer is a thin paper which I coloured with a promarker to fit my color scheme. The green-white layer is a paper printed out from a cd rom and I placed metal corners on that layer. The main picture scene I created in MS Word from separate images from 2 cd roms. I loved all the images so much and could not settle only on one or two that is why I created the whole scene. Once I was happy how the scene looked I printed this scene on a photo paper 5 times in the same size. Then cut out all 5 pieces around the edges but to achieve the step layered look I had to take each individual piece turn it face down  and  measure it from the edge inwards and apply the same measurement to all 4 sides by that  I formed a rectangle inside my piece and I cut it out with a craft knife. I kept the outside bit of each piece and got rid off the middle bits I cut out. With the second, third and fourth piece I increased the measurement from the edges so that way I could achieve the stepped layered look. The bottom layer of the picture is the only layer that does not need cutting. I used mini double sided sticky pads to stick all the layers together. It gave it a bit of a height and made the stepped look pop. To frame the assembled layers I used my burgundy card and cut a rectangle out of the card which was about 1.5 cm larger in size on each side than the top layer of the layered picture and then again I went from the edge inwards to cut it out with a craft knife. I was left with a frame and applied brown promarker to darken the frame a bit. I positioned double sided tape around the edges of the frame and applied glitter (jade). Then I glued the frame on the top of the layered picture and it framed it nicely. Then the whole structure was glued to my base with a glue gel. I added red roses, metal corners and punched out  butterflies which I layered and I used tonic punches to make the green mini flowers in the middle of the butterflies.

This is my favourite Christmas decoration entry !

I absolutely adore my Christmas stocking. I bought it about 10 years ago. It was my first Christmas decoration bought as a married woman, that year we did not even have a Christmas tree because we just moved our house and there was no time to put any decorations up because we were unpacking all the stuff and settling down in our new house where we are still to this day and my adorable stocking is still with us every Christmas.

Thank you very much for visiting!
All comments are very much appreciated!
