Here is a great tutorial on how to make a secret box. It was written by Heather Perreaux.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/secretbox/
You are going to need to watch it, to assemble this box. All I have done is make an svg file of the parts needed to assemble the box. That is so you don't have to measure and cut all those odd shaped pieces of card stock. There are four 12x12 mats of items to cut.
The first two mats are cut in the color of your box. It gives you the box and the drawers inside. The fold lines are dashed lines. The third and forth screens give you the embellishments for the sides and top of the box. It gives you a circle, in which you can stamp and image. I chose to cut out some snowflakes from the scal winter library built into scal and place them in the circle. You need strong glue(or scor tape...or I used my krylon sticker maker after I was halfway done). I like Aleene's quick dyr tacky glue for box construction. You can see some of my panels/embellishments are not sticking very well. That is where I used a glue stick.
I hope you will tackle this box now. There are some great examples in the tutorial. Enjoy!
By the way, I tested this in Sure Cuts A lot, sometimes mtc doesn not work right with the inkscape files. Eyeball and see if it looks right, before cutting.

Matchbox within a Card
This template makes a matchbox with a closure. Sort of a drawer within another box that closes.
Download template for matchbox with closure
Download template for matchbox with closure
There are 3 screens worth of things to cut. The first one is the drawer.Move mat left 12 inches. The second one is all the trim for the outside of the matchbox cover.move over another 12 inches(approximately..just look at your scal screen) The third screen is the matchbox cover. Dashed score lines show where to fold. For the drawer, glue the tabs inside the adjoining sides. You will need some kind of closure to hold box closed. I was going to use velcro dots.

Simple Card Stock Basket
You have seen many of these baskets online. Usually they come with lots of instructions about cutting squares, then cutting them into triangles, etc. I decided i would make a svg file to cut out the squares and triangles for you. You use two different papers.
Because it is difficult to cut a 12x12 paper on the cricut, you still need to make that part by hand. Using your score board, score your 12 by paper every 4 inches, both vertically and horizontally. you will have 9 squares on your paper. Fold on score lines. Then in each corner, score at 45 degrees, then fold.
Glue squares into each square on your paper, front and back. You don't need one in the middle. Glue triangles onto each triangle. Then punch hold in each corner of triangle. Thread ribbon through the holes and tighten, tie in bow. Or use a o ring to close basket by threading through holes. Then tie on small ribbons around ring, between holes. I added embellishments from my paper pack for a cute finished product.
I don't know if I did a good job explaining.Tutorial on how to make box by hand

Easter Card with a Box
Make this cute card with a box for a treat.
This 3 d popup card was modelled from an idea I saw at Extremecards.blogspot.com. If you have never been to her blog, you should go. Many ideas and svg files are often provided.

This file is really a blank card. I used the bunny in scal spring to embellish the card.
If you have scal, then use the scut file to get the card and the embellishments.

Shamrock Treat Boxes...reposted
One of my friends said the nurses are having a bake sale at the hospital on St. Patrick's Day. She asked if I could make some things to make her sale extra special.
I suggested these cupcake boxes and treat boxes. I said, a plain cupcake sells for fifty cents, but one in a festive box, 1.50!
I used some St. Patrick's day coordinating paper I have around the craft room ,and mixed the lids and bases for variety. These do require glue and I found some Super Tacky Alen's glue, perfect for getting the box sides to adhere quickly.
The shamrock cut in the top, provides a view of the beautiful cupcake inside.

The next treat box is easy to cut and asemble, as no glue is required. It is held together by the slits on the two ends, through which the box adornment is pushed.
These would be great for a brownie, two cookies, or an assortment of candy.

The Cancer Ribbon makes this a nice thing to decorate your seats at your next meeting and provide a little "thank you" to your workers. Fill this up with something special and they will be grateful to you for the nice gesture.

I almost forgot to include the files:

Breast_cancer_box.svg

Basically you can change that treat box to have any shape as long as it will fit through the slot and lock the box.
UPDATE: AFTER MAKING SOME OF THESE BOXES, I DECIDED IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE AN INSERT WITH A HOLE IN IT THAT WOULD HOLD YOUR CUPCAKE STRAIGHT IN THE BOX. WHEN I MADE IT, AND PUT IT IN THE BOX, IT LOOKED GREAT, BUT I DECIDED THAT THE BOX MIGHT NOT BE BIG ENOUGH FOR THE BAKERY CUPCAKES WITH ALL THEIR ICING ON THE TOP. I'M SURE IT IS FINE FOR THE KIND YOU MAKE AT HOME, WHERE THE MUFFIN TINS SEEM TO BE SMALLER.
I DECIDED IT JUST WASN'T POSSIBLE TO MAKE A BIG ENOUGH BOX OUT OF A SINGLE 12X12 PIECE OF PAPER, SO I SEPARATED THE BOX BASE FROM THE LID AND INSERT. YOU CAN CUT TWO LIDS AND INSERTS FROM A 12X12 PAPER. THIS MAKES THE BOX ABOUT 2.5 INCHES TALL AND 3.5 INCHES SQUARE. THE FIRST FILE I COULD ONLY GET 2 INCHES TALL BY 3 INCHES SQUARE, AND GET IT TO CUT FROM 12X12 SHEET OF PAPER. I THINK YOU WOULD HAVE ROOM TO CUT OUT A CUPCAKE WRAPPER AT THE SAME TIME AS THE CUPCAKE BASE THOUGH.

Heart Shaped Box..new MTC version of file
This layout is for a 12x24v mat. To cut on 12x12 mat, cut first page. THen move second page onto mat(set x to -12).
I had to go into mtc and make a bit trace of the image to get the sides to show up. I have no idea why mtc can't read a standard svg file that scal has no problem with! This is the second time this has happened. Maybe an mtc guru can tell me!

Christmas House Basket or Light
I saw houses similar to these on a post on kreations_by_kim blog. She said she made hers using the Handyman cartridge. Please check out Kim's blog because i love the extra details on the one she decorated.
Since Kim's example came from a cartridge, she didn't have an svg file to share. I didn't have the Handyman Cartridge so with her permission, I decided to make an svg file that would be similar, so we could all make one if we wanted to.
Download the svg file:
Download the Scut 2 file:
These can be use to store something like candies, toiletries, even socks you might give as a gift. In addition, the square battery operated candle from Dollar Tree fit in the basket perfectly too. You could just remove the handle if you are using the basket as a centerpiece instead.
I was able to import the file into make the cut, but it DOES NOT LOOK the same as it did in SCAL...I'm sorry it doesn't look like you will be able to cut it in make the cut. I don't use make the cut, but do have a copy. I didn't realize it didn't work as well as scal at reading the svg files that come out of inkscape.

Foxy Box..Free svg
I came across a photo of this box and thought he was a cutie. Decided we might want to cut one out on our Cricut so came up with a pattern. You might like the box by itself for other uses, even if you don't want to accessorize it as a fox.

Box with a View..NEW DOWNLOAD>>>OLD FILE WOULDN"T LOAD
This box opens to reveal a window with hidden treats.
I added an optional cover with a scalloped edge.
Here is how it looks in the file and you can use the picture to figure out how to assemble. I don't like to cut all the fold lines because it takes the cricut so long. The box will turn out better if you use a scorepal or something to score the box on the fold lines. I just use the edge of my desk!
.(finished box is about 3.23 inches square)
Fold on fold lines. Make window by folding inside of window to back of box. Add piece of acetate to back of window. Make into box, gluing the sides. Fold in top and bottom flaps. Fill with candy. Add cover by gluing. There is a perforated fold line on the cover if you look closely.

One Piece Box
You have probably seen these boxes at Dollar Tree. They are sold in the "wedding section".
If they suit your purposes, I would just buy a set there. Unfortunately they only coome in a beige and white color, and are quite small(2" by 2.25"). I thought it might be fun to make our own, so I made my own pattern.
If you cut them out of two sided paper, they are almost decorated when you are done. Just add a few butterflies or hearts, and cut them out at the same time..

I did put in some of the score lines, but not all, as it really slows down the cutting. I tried to do the ones which folded in, instead of out. You can see from my picture where most of the score lines go. If you are cutting a lot of these, I'd just remove the score lines, after I cut one and see how it goes together.
The embellishments were just from the scal library.

Exploding Clown Box
I had fun making this box today. Files coming soon. You could put photos on al the flaps and make it as a gift. Or deliver a gift card in style, by putting it in this cute box.
This box takes 4 cuts. I used two pairs of two-sided card stock. Then by switching the colors you can have lots of contrasting pieces, that you can use to embellish your box.
The svg file for this clown box will be for sale on my blog for $3.00. You need to buy a 1 inch wooden bead for the head and a pompom for the nose(or cut one out of paper). I drew on the face with some sharpie markers.
Outer layer: fold 4 flaps towards the middle. Add Party cut to the rectangle background and put on front of box. Add clown shoes. Use raised dots to attach various trims to side of box as desired.
Lid: fold to make lid and glue. Make present by glueing bow onto front. FOr 3-d effect, use raised dot to attach to second present layer. Glue arms on the side of the box lid, so that the hands can hold the present. Attach present to the clowns arms. Fan fold the neck "ruffle" , glue ends together and flatten. I glued it to a scrap of paper to keep it flat.
Attach "rosette" or ruffle to top of box lid. Attach clown head. Attach nose to clown head. Make hat by folding circle into a cone shape. Attach hat to bead clown head.
Middle layer: fold 4 flaps towards middle. Attach with glue to outer layer middle square.
Inner Layer: fold 4 flaps towards middle. Attach with glue to middle layer.
Trim with various hearts, stars and squares.
